CASS COUNTY, MO (April 28, 2020) – Following the completion of Cass County’s Stay at Home Order on May 3rd, Cass County will be adopting and implementing the guidance from the State of Missouri’s Show-Me Strong Recovery Order. Some jurisdictions within the County may be adopting their own COVID-19 orders that may be stricter than the County’s Order.

Starting (12:01 a.m., Wednesday, March 18) the Order prohibits all public gatherings of 10 or more until 12:01 a.m., Wednesday, April 1. However, based on CDC recommendations, we strongly encourage residents and businesses to be prepared for possible extensions of these prohibitions.

The City of Peculiar is requesting input from our residents regarding future street projects. These projects are eligible for Federal Grant Funds spanning the next 30 years in Peculiar. This is accomplished through the Regional Transportation Plan of the Mid-America Regional Council (MARC). These Projects are competing for these Federal Grant Funds across the Kansas City Metropolitan Area.

The Public Works Department and Bartlett & West will begin the initial investigation of noted areas of concern related to storm water drainage issues on Wednesday January 10th. City of Peculiar, MO – 03/30/2016 – Peculiar Police Department announces it has joined the SafeTrade initiative for safer completion of online transactions. SafeTrade is a simple program for police and sheriff’s departments to encourage transactions at their facilities; for classified sites to strengthen their safety and security initiatives, and for users to insist on “SafeTrade” by conducting their transactions only at a local police or sheriff’s office.

Code Red” weather and emergency notifications are being changed in Cass County to “Everbridge”. To be up to date, please sign up for the new notifications by creating an account. Online account is available at the Cass County Emergency Services Board www.casscountyesb.com or telephoning Robin Tieman at 816-887-1953 in order to continue getting severe weather, flooding, and emergency notifications.

Reminder that annual Animal License's need to be renewed. the cost is $5.00 for a sterilized animal and $10.00 for one intact. There is a $5.00 penalty for renewing after January 31st. Renewals are to be made at the Peculiar Police Department.
